USA Dance Inc. is the National Governing Body for amateur DanceSport in the United States. As the representative organization for all amateur social and recreational ballroom and Latin dancers in America, it is the only organization entitled to hold USA National Ballroom Championships and delegate representatives to the World. USA Dance Inc is also the official member organization for DanceSport on the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and the U.S. member of the world governing organization, the World DanceSport Federation (called the WDSF), which is the official global member organization of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

USA Dance has 164 chapters throughout the United States, one of which is the Royal Palm Chapter, in South Florida. Patti MacDonald, President and Director of the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter, and Les MacDonald, Director of the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter, are to be credited with developing, organizing and bringing to South Florida the highly regarded annual USA Dance Royal Palm DanceSport Competition, now in its 13th year, which takes place each year at Goldcoast Ballroom. Every year for the past nine years, Patti MacDonald has served as Organizer of this highly successful, well run, and well-attended event.

Amateur DanceSport athletes of all ages from Florida and throughout the U.S. compete in the annual USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter DanceSport Competition held at Goldcoast Ballroom. Anyone who loves ballroom dancing can come and watch, and cheer for your favorite couples.

Amateur competitors compete in American Smooth/Rhythm, International Standard/Latin as well as Hustle, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, and Theater Arts.

USA Dance, Royal Palm Chapter held its very successful 2015 DanceSport Competition at Goldcoast Ballroom on January 31, 2015.
