Lisa Castellano has over 10 years of experience teaching and dancing Argentine Tango. Lisa is also an accomplished Salsa dancer and instructor; she is proficient in both LA (On1) and NY (On2) styles. She has always been extremely passionate about dancing, music, performing, and many other forms of art, but what really sparked Lisa’s passion was Argentine Tango. She is passionate about sharing her insight and training with YOU!

Lisa began dancing ballet, jazz, and tap at an early age and later added hip-hop and lyrical dance to her study. She began creating and teaching choreography in high school, thrilled to share her love of dancing with her peers.

In 2006, Lisa was introduced to Argentine Tango and was instantly captivated; so she immediately traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to learn the essence of the dance where it originated under the tutelage of master Tangueros. During that time, she improved her skills and developed her connection to the music and other dancers. Being in Argentina allowed Lisa to improve significantly at a fast pace because of the skilled performers, seasoned instructors, and traditional Milongueros she had the honor of training with.

She returned to Florida and completed intensive training with a highly respected Master Salsa Instructor. Lisa has completed comprehensive timing and musicality instruction and training, keeping up with ever-changing patterns and routines. She made several trips to Argentina to refine her skills and deepen her understanding of this intricate and interpersonal dance. After teaching at several schools, she moved on to teach privately.

After years of training, she continues to learn other dance styles to further her technique. Lisa was sought out recently to teach at Florida Atlantic University as part of their events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

Lisa is thrilled to be teaching Argentine Tango on Wednesday nights at Goldcoast Ballroom, where her love of Ballroom Dance first developed. She has spent years cultivating a special affection for Argentine Tango and this is a perfect opportunity for her to teach and share her knowledge, skill, and experience. Join us…this could be the start of an amazing journey of dance that will last a lifetime.
