The class includes a Structured Practice Session after the class, from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During the Practice Session, Paolo and Liene dance with their students, and the students dance with each other.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn International Style Slow Foxtrot – a most elegant, gliding, flowing and fun dance – with Paolo and Liene, who are one of the Top professional competitive couples in the World! At the United States National Dance Championships (USDC) held on September 7, 2013, they won the First Place title of United States National Professional Classic Show Dance Champions! As reigning U.S. Champions, they will represent the United States in the World Championships! We are so excited for Paolo and Liene and so very proud of them, and happy and grateful that they are part of our Goldcoast Ballroom team!!
On Thursday nights at Goldcoast Ballroom, Paolo & Liene teach a one-hour class in one of the five International Standard ballroom dances, followed by a structured practice session for the students, which includes dancing with the teachers.
Both couples and singles are welcome. During the class, most of the students rotate partners, so everyone has a chance to dance.
Each month Liene and Paolo teach a new routine in one of the five International Standard dances — Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep. For more information about this style of dancing and the other styles of dancing, see our Resources/ Learn About Dance page.
At the end of the International Standard dance class, they hold a structured practice session which is open to students in the class. During the practice session, the students have the opportunity to dance with Paolo and Liene, and the students dance with each other.
The practice session sometimes includes a “Five-Dance” simulated competition in which student couples can perform their own routines in all five of the International Standard dances, complete with walking on the floor properly, performing each dance, bows, and applause. When time permits, the “Five-Dance” becomes a “Ten-Dance,” including also the five International Latin dances. It is lots of fun!
The admission for the one-hour class (including the structured practice session after the class) is only $15.00!
