Goldcoast Ballroom Well Represented at Carolina Fall Classic – National Qualifying Event Competition

Goldcoast Ballroom was well represented at the Carolina Fall Classic, an all-amateur USA Dance National Qualifying Event (NQE) competition held in Charlotte, North Carolina October 4 through 6, 2013.

The Feingolds are among the many admiring students of Paolo & Liene Di Lorenzo, Goldcoast’s World Class Instructors who are the reigning U.S. National Professional Show Dance Champions. Vincent & Irina Feingold studied with Paolo & Liene in New Jersey, and credit Paolo & Liene with “taking them from Gold to Open” Championship level.

As illustrated, Goldcoast was represented at the event by three competing couples and by Patti & Les MacDonald, President and Director, respectively, of Florida’s USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter. With them is Marcia Dorn-Miller, Competition/ Hospitality Coordinator of the Orlando Chapter of USA Dance.

As the Organizer of the very successful USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter Competition held each year at Goldcoast Ballroom, Patti ably represented both Goldcoast Ballroom and the USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter Competition at the event.

The next USA Dance Royal Palm Chapter Competition will be held at Goldcoast Ballroom on January 25, 2014.   Mark your calendars!

Competition Results

At the Carolina Fall Classic competition, out of seven couples competing in the Amateur Senior IV Championship Standard Final, Goldcoast’s Giovanni Rannella & Helena Zaludova won FIRST PLACE, and Goldcoast’s David & Kay Lines won SECOND PLACE!!

Out of seven couples competing in the Amateur Senior IV Pre-Champ Standard Final, Giovanni Rannella & Helena Zaludova placed FIRST and David & Kay Lines placed SECOND!!

In the Amateur Senior III Standard Championship Event, comprised of 13 couples, both of Goldcoast’s competing couples were Finalists! In the Finals, Giovanni Rannella & Helena Zaludova placed THIRD, and David & Kay Lines placed FIFTH. Former U.S. National Amateur Champions Vincent & Irina Feingold of New Jersey won FIRST in this event, and Paul & Louise Giuliano of New York placed SECOND.

Congratulations to Goldcoast Ballroom’s Medalists Giovanni Rannella & Helena Zaludova and David & Kay Lines on their impressive victories at the Carolina Fall Classic! With their high placements, both couples automatically qualified to participate in the USA Dance National DanceSport Championships to be held March 28-30, 2014 in Baltimore, Maryland.

David and Connie Koontz also danced in the competition, and qualified to participate in the Nationals in their Gold and Novice level events.

All three of Goldcoast Ballroom’s competing couples won Medals at the event, and all qualified to participate in the Nationals!
